Did someone say pain free?

I never thought that I would be one of those people with “Good days and Bad days.”

Don’t get me wrong, I have witnessed it, a lot actually. But until it hit my own body, I couldn’t really get it. Dealing with chronic anything is stressful and exhausting, and chronic pain is at the top of the list. Even if you are in a state of chronic financial stress, you can understand how consuming it is right? Chronic sleep issues, chronic fatigue, chronic digestive distress…

Chronic simply means that it doesn’t go away-ever. Anything for more than 6 weeks is considered chronic in my book. 6 weeks of constant stress, YIKES!

The RESTORE. program was born in the FIRE of chronic pain, stress, inflammation, gut distress, fatigue.  But the pain… ugh! I remember saying to my husband in a rather resigned and incredulous way one night that, “I think the only part of my body that doesn’t hurt is my tongue.” and then I burst out laughing…albeit, I probably sounded and looked a little maniacal. But who wouldn’t? This was my “it is what it is” attitude. No sense complaining.

As a nutrition and movement professional, don’t you think that I was already on top of my game as far as food and exercise? Yep, you are right, I was.

But I decided to hit it harder in the nutrition department, study more about gut repair and autoimmune conditions. Not just general stuff. I went way beyond clean eating and Paleo. I went back to Biochemistry and function. I went old school. The original school. I HAD a clean diet!

I went back and started studying the Foundations of human performance and studied about the consequences of that lost art. Why is this autoimmune situation so big? Why is 1:3 people walking around with autoimmune dysfunction of some sort? Why is obesity still on the rise? What is UP with cancer and early onset dementia and heart disease in healthy looking people? How did this happen to us?

A few things started happening in my life:

  1. I was able to finally fix myself after 8 long years.
  2. My clients changed from people who just wanted to train harder and look toner to people struggling with chronic health conditions that were stonewalling their attempts to fix themselves.
  3. A new passion began to burn in my heart, my head and my very soul, I want to save people. I have always been an educator, even with my strength training students and classes, I want them to know HOW and WHY things should be done. I want to EMPOWER people. That has always been my drive.

So, I began sharing a deeper level of nutrition with my clients. Less focused on weight loss and strength, and more focused on healing, function, repair and recovery. Once these steps were handled, things like weight loss just happened. 

The Restore program is so successful for so many people because it functions the way your life functions, as a whole.

These are the areas we address in a certain order in Restore:

  • Rest
  • Eat
  • Sleep
  • Tribe
  • Open Up
  • Repair
  • Exercise

By addressing each of these categories in the right order, we are able to heal, to restore the proper function of our very complex bodies. We have an innate sense of survival. Our bodies are designed to KEEP us ALIVE! It’s a lot easier to do with a body that functions easily.

We become more resilient.

Whether you are engaged in a 1 to 1 private program with me, or if you are working at your own pace in one of my online modules, everyone finds balance and improvement in these areas. They MUST if they are actually looking to RESTORE their health.

I don’t have to tell you that STRESS is a contributing factor in almost every single disease state we know of. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that REST is at the top of our list. I’m not going to give away the farm here, but getting a handle of the modern day stresses we face is key to helping you achieve a pain free body. It doesn’t matter what kind of stress you are facing:

Emotional, environmental or physical stress, it’s hard on your body function. It is fatiguing. A tired body is not longer resilient and is open for attack by disease or deterioration or both.
